1. What is Kayin State Medicinal Plant Resource Center?

Kayin State Medicinal Plant Resource Center is located at Kayin State, Myanmar and was established in 2014 based on the agreement between The Nippon Foundation and the Kayin State Government. We collect medicinal plant within Kayin state and analyze the plant tissue or nutrient. On the other hand, we will perform plant sampling in the field of the resource center for different plants analysis, build showroom and sell the primarily processed medicinal plant. Furthermore, we restructure the resource center to expand the organization, establishing the KANFA (Kayin Nippon Foundation Agricenter) and dividing the project work under Public Education Division and Agribusiness Division to improve the farmers’ income and develop the agriculture in Kayin state.

2.Background and Requirements


We are urgently hiring a Manager at the newly established KANFA Agribusiness Division. He/she will station in KANFA in Paan, Kayin State and has to have extensive experience, knowledge and know-how in business. He/she is also capable to work with local enterprises, state government and farmers.


Position: Manager at Agribusiness Department

Work location:Paan, Kayin State, Myanmar (including business trip to other states in Myanmar, Thailand and Japan)


・Age:Between 40 to 55

・Language:Japanese – Business level

English – Daily conversation level

※Burmese language is preferable

※Regardless of nationality

・Education:University graduate or above. Any faculty or specialty is welcomed but knowledge in agriculture and food is preferable.

・Working experience:Experience in business (marketing or sales in private enterprise or International NGO)

・Skills:Able to write business strategy, profit and loss plan with computer. Able to act and monitor budget planning.

・Character:Be cooperative and capable to lead the team with leadership skills. Able to communicate smoothly within the organization.

3.Job Description

The position of the Manager at KANFA Agribusiness Division reports to the Executive Director. He/she takes great responsibility in smooth and steady operation in the organization.

  • Operation (General Affairs)

・Arrange meetings and consolidate agenda

・Coordinate with the delegated divisions and KANFA for internal operation. Negotiate and coordinate with external organization

・Manage finance and accounting

・Manage website

・Create budget and business plan, also create account and business report

  • Program Management and follow-up (Program Delivery)

・The manager is responsible for program planning, implementing, and sorting out issues as well as possible strategic development during the whole process in the food value chain (i.e. production, processing, distribution and sales) in an efficient and cost-effective way (using the project management skill of PDCA).

・A great sense of responsibility in program follow-up, management and evaluation

・Be sharp and sensitive to internal and external changes affecting the program, minimize risk and respond appropriately

・Clarify the nature of immediate challenges, find effective measure to solve them, and report to the Executive Director

・Lead the program in the aspects of product planning and development, market opportunity analysis, client targeting and sales promotion

  • Promote the Program as a Social Business

・Educate the staff with the idea of public interest from the perspective of social business, promote the program in a way that the ultimate goal is to improve farmers’ income and reduce poverty in Kayin State.

・Communicate to the public about our program outline, our attitude and commitment, the expected outcome, and continue our activities towards the well-being of the society.

<Selection Process>
